If you are planning a new home or significant remodel and want a clear, well-supported process from first idea to completion — we would be happy to discuss it with you.
A short initial conversation is often the best way to understand your project, answer early questions, and see if we’re the right fit.
A small practice by design
BHA is a small architectural practice based in Bridge of Allan, working on bespoke homes and significant residential projects across Scotland.
We take on a relatively small number of projects and remain closely involved in each of them.
Our work often begins before the architectural answer is obvious. Clients may have a difficult site, a complicated existing building, planning constraints, competing priorities, or simply need help establishing what they should build.
Our role is to bring clarity to that process and then carry the resulting decisions through into a properly resolved building.
How we practice
That requires more than producing good design.
It requires judgement — understanding which issues matter, anticipating problems before they become problems, coordinating the people involved and being prepared to make decisions.
We expect the architects working on our projects to understand the whole project rather than simply the stage or package in front of them.
Responsibility sits close to the people doing the work. Our architects deal directly with clients and consultants, make decisions and remain involved as projects move from design through approvals, technical development and construction.
Where we're going
We are developing BHA around a small, highly capable team working on increasingly ambitious residential projects.
We aren't looking to become a large practice. The aim is to build a practice where good architects can do excellent work, have meaningful responsibility for its outcome, and play a significant part in the development of the studio itself.
Working together
Building a home is a significant undertaking.
Our role is to bring clarity to the decisions involved and take responsibility for carrying them through.
From the first conversation to completion, our clients deal directly with the architects responsible for their project.
